Why A Physician Buying Group?
- Physician buying groups (PBG’s) are offered the best pricing on vaccines in exchange for maintaining loyalty and market share requirements to a manufacturer’s vaccine portfolio.
Primary Care Alliance (PCA) is a physician buying group (PBG). PBG’s are required to manage market share on certain vaccines and maintain loyalty to manufacturers’ vaccine portfolios. In exchange for this, manufacturers offer PBG’s the best pricing on vaccines. This is important because the business of medicine is expensive and vaccines are one of the biggest costs a primary care medical practice has. In addition, the profit margins on vaccines are slim. This makes obtaining the best pricing on vaccines critical to running a successful practice. Let PCA worry about finding the best prices and keeping you up to date on the latest vaccine news so you can focus on providing the best care to your patients.

Program Overview
- PCA members choose which manufacturer’s programs they want to join.
- PCA provides members with up-to-date information on vaccine developments.
- PCA provides members with resources on billing and coding.
PCA has contracts with many different vaccine manufacturers. Each physician office that joins PCA chooses the vaccine manufacturers’ programs in which they want to participate. This can be dependent on which vaccines they are using in their office and which vaccines align with their current vaccination schedule. PCA keeps up to date on the latest vaccine developments and information and shares this with its members. We are always looking for new partnerships with different manufacturers that will benefit our members. PCA also provides resources on billing and coding for vaccines and can assist with cost and profitability analyses.

Save on Vaccines
Aside from payroll, vaccines are the largest source of expense in medical offices – making it vital for practices to receive the best possible prices. PCA members save money on vaccines by getting the best prices available from our manufacturing partners. Members of physician buying groups (PBG’s) like PCA, receive these discounts by individually, and as a group, meeting market share requirements on certain vaccines.
Make Vaccines Profitable
PCA members are eligible to receive rebates on the vaccines they purchase. These rebates, along with receiving the best on-invoice pricing available on vaccines, effectively lower our members’ overall vaccine costs.
The lower cost on vaccines, along with coding and billing information PCA provides to make sure your vaccines are billed correctly, ensure that vaccines can become profitable for your practice.
Simplify your Vaccine Schedule
PCA members are able to set and keep to a vaccine schedule because they know they are receiving the best prices on their vaccines. This knowledge means that you don’t have to consistently alter your vaccine schedule to keep up with distributor sales and short-dated vaccines.
PCA members are able to simplify their vaccine schedules by using combination vaccines instead of single-entity vaccines where appropriate. Contact us today to discuss combination vaccines, such as Pentacel, Penbraya, Proquad, Quadracel and Vaxelis, and where they fit into your office’s vaccine schedule.
Vaccinate More Patients
PCA members receive information on setting up and conducting respiratory (flu, COVID and pneumonia) and back-to-school vaccine clinics. We also provide up to date information and ideas on recalling patients effectively as well as on using EHR to identify patients who are not up to date on their vaccines.
Stay Up to Date on Vaccine Info
PCA members receive up to date information on the vaccine industry through PCA’s relationship with our manufacturing partners. We provide insight into what is currently happening in the vaccine industry as well as on what vaccines are in the development pipeline. As these new vaccines are approved and receive recommendations, PCA members receive information on how to incorporate these vaccines into their current vaccine schedules.
PCA ensures our members are aware of CPT, NDC, CVX and MVX codes as well as insurance coverage on new vaccines before implementing them in their practice.
Focus on Your Patients
PCA members are able to focus on their patients because they have confidence PCA is taking care of the vaccine side of the business for them through education, rebates and providing the best possible pricing on vaccines from our manufacturing partners.
How It Works
- PCA is free!
- PCA members choose which manufacturer’s programs they want to join.
- After receiving signed participation agreements, PCA members’ accounts are linked to PCA’s discounted pricing.
- Members order directly through the manufacturers.
Joining PCA is easy and free! Let us know you are interested in joining by contacting us here or calling us at 801.369.3933. When we hear from you, we can discuss all of PCA’s programs and figure out which ones will work best for your office. We will then send you a participation agreement for each program you elect to join and collect some basic demographic information about your office. Because each manufacturer’s contract is different, each participation agreement is also different and provides information on the contract PCA has signed with that particular manufacturer. Once PCA receives your signed participation agreements, we will notify the manufacturers and have them link your account to PCA’s discounted pricing. This can take anywhere from a couple of days to a few weeks depending on the manufacturer. We will notify you once your account has been linked. As soon as your account has been linked you will receive PCA’s discounted pricing on your vaccines.
